(Chinese) Can you tell what this song 海闊天空 is about, please?

This song is about following one's dream. It can also be about "being stubborn" and "persistent" regardless of the outcome.

The lyrics were written by the former lead singer of the group Beyond (he passed away already). The song is about the music journey of the group and the music industry in Hong Kong.

When Beyond came into the music scene in Hong Kong, the industry was all about good-looking idol-type artists singing commercialized songs. Beyond didn't want to be a part of that culture and their goal was to write their own music and sing what they wanted to sing - their dreams, thoughts, etc. even if they can't make money from it, at least they were honest with their music and fans. That's what the song is about.

"海闊天空" means "boundary-less" or "the world is so big" and the "你" in the song (你 means you) is Beyond's fans.

The three main lines that give the real meaning away in the song:

Basically, the title means (roughly) huge and big. And that the world is so big. The song's about a guy saying if theres only him in the world, he will still be free on his own and he doesn't care about anyone else. He'll be happier, because people are mean to him but he never gives up his dreams. He'd prefer to be alone in the world.

my chinese friend gave me that rough translation, but since its in cantonese and she speaks Mandarin chinese it was quite difficult.
