I am an American born Taiwanese.
I lived in Taiwan before. I listen to mandopop. I even dress Asianish even though I live in America.
but do ppl there like it if i start speaking english? is it rude? cuz i dont really know ALL the chinese vocabs. perfect taiwanese accent though.
and i dont know if i look asian enough!!! ahhh!!!

During my stay in Taiwan (over 5 years) never did I hear negative things about American-born Taiwanese except that they were privileged KMT offspring who could afford to live in the USA.A large percentage of Asians feel a better life is available to those who can live in the USA. But only the wealthy or those who marry mei go ren can experience that lifestyle.
I would suggest you spend some time in Taiwan with your relatives to get a feel for the culture there.

If you don't know how to say something in mandarin, just incorporate the english equivalent (but make sure they're simple words). I do it all the time.
As for looks, everybody looks different somehow. It's not like some stranger can point you out from the crowd and say "hey, he's an ABC" lol
Besides, why would they hate their own?

I haven't heard of a lot of racism towards ABCs. There is employment preferences in many cases, but if your Chinese is good, you should be able to easily find a job with a school that values a Native English Speaker with some Chinese ability.

No it's not rude, and don't be so insecure if you don't think you look "asian" enough....I don't give a rip if people think I look hella asian or not asian at all.....

well, here's the thing. if you really can't speak chinese, than people will like you. most people are pretty friendly. the ones that people hate are those who 'pretend' that they can't speak chinese and speaks english in an extra loud fashion as if everyone else around them are inferior.
but in general people dont hate or like ABCs, they aren't as special as they used to be 10 years ago when the LA boys hit the musics industry
