In Hong Kong, Looking For Good, Cheap Bars for College Aged Students?

There are a lot of very trendy places here, especially on the Hong Kong Island side, but I am most interested in finding a bar like one I may find in the US/Europe. All the travel guides I have read keep pointing me toward bars/lounges/clubs that charge upwards of HK$50 for a drink, which is really not something I am willing to do.

So- any bars a college student would like, fair prices, good mix of people, good for late night with good music? People can be local, foreign, alien- I am up for anything.

Am I asking for too much? Any advice is appreciated.

I am not sure if it's still there, but try Joe Banana's in Wanchai. A friend took me there while I was in HK a few years back and it reminded me of the pub scene we have at home. A lot of young people there, especially ABC/CBC's (American Chinese/Canadian Chinese).

Price-wise, I thought it was ok, but then again, it was years ago I was there.
