URGENT! I LOST MY TRACKING NUMBER FOR AN INTERNATIONAL PRIORITY MAIL!!?

I work in the mailing industry and the tracking number is extremely important to keep. There are millions of packages that are being shipped and that is the only way it can be located, by that tracking number. That said, I am afraid there is nothing you can do. If someone calls me and tells me they don't have their tracking number, please tell me how am I suppose to find it? Hopefully you'll get it soon.

You have to purchase insurance...You should be worried, because it should have traveled more than that by now. But call the 1800-ASK-USPS number, and they'll tell you,

I'm having the same problem. I just shipped a package to China and misplaced the sipping receipt. I'm only human, I make mistakes and misplace things. I take responsibility for that. However, my customer now informs me that he provided me with the wrong address and he really needs the tracking number. USPS informs me that without the tracking number there isn't anything to do. Which is astonishing to me. They take down so much information and you're telling me that the only way that they can track a package is through a random series of numbers?! They can't look it up by name, delivery address or return address? UPS can, I guess that I'll just have to start using them.

We can't answer that question here on answers.. because our crystal balls quit working when the network went down New Year's eve.

If you don't have the NUMBER... which is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HOLD ON TO.. the YOU are just out of luck... all you can do is hope it shows up.
