5^x = 1953125

Take ln of both sides:

x ln5 = ln 1953125

Divide :

x = ln 1953125 / ln5

Now put that in your calculator.

x = 9

5^x = 1953125
log_5[5^x] = log_5[1953125]
x = log[1953125]/log[5]
x = 9

You can't really solve this with a calculator unless you have a TI-89( i think. TI - 89 is a beastly machine which can solve basically anything).
But you can get help from any calculator that is able to use the log function (I recommend the TI - 83 or 84 or higher ^_^). The reason being that you will have to log both sides getting
log 5^x = log 1953125. Because the x is an exponent you can bring it down. x log 5 = log 1953125. Here you whip out ur calc. and punch in (log 1953125) / (log 5). You should get x = 9.

Sorry if this was confusing. first time writing an answer on yahoo.

take log of 1953125 then divide by 'log of 5'.

use logs....x = ln[1953125] / ln [5]

It can be solved by:

log(1953125)/log(5)

take log of 1953125 then divide by 5. (i'm pretty sure, check the answer)
