You didn't mention what passport you are holding but I assume you are holding a Phippine passport since you posted your Q at YAP.

If you are traveling to China Mainland, you need to secure a visitor's visa. You can apply a visa at China Embassy in Makati. See this link for visa requirement. Processing time is 4 days.

If you are only visiting HongKong, you don't need a visa. You are allowed to stay in HongKong for 14 days. If you are in a hurry, you can fly to HonKong and apply your visa there. Visa processing in HongKong is two days. Requirement is the same as listed in the link.

Visa is needed but not so strict like those going to USA. You are lucky to have friend there because hotels are expensive.

you need to check with your doctor on what shots you need to get ( i had to get 4 or so) because certain diseases are all over china and those not from china contract them very easily.

it would also help you if someone with you spoke chinese- if you ever want to buy something, chinese people are the moss professional salesmen in the world. you can haggle for almost anything except for food and transportation.

know if you have any allergies, etc, because you will want to try and avoid having to communicate with a chinese doctor, because the language barrier is not ignorable, and very dangerous in a health issue.

just for your sake you maybe will want to research china a bit? it is very different from other cultures, but probably one of the coolest places in the world! it sleeps less than new york and it is beautiful once you discover all of its unique places. so while you're there you'll want to visit certain places- look them up before you go so if you're bored one day you can have something interesting to do. beyond those, you basically need to prepare like a normal trip. pack the necessities, and for all weather, bring spending money and money you need for the flights and transportation in general, and make sure to get the money transferred into yen.

You'll need to get a visa. In order to get the visa, you'll need a ticket with confirmed arrival and departure dates as well as a confirmed place to stay while you're there. If you're staying with a friend then you will need to include a written letter from your friend confirming the arrangements as well as official identifications of that friend. (My best friend went there for a visit a couple months ago and was staying with a friend there, that friend had to send in his address as well as his employment info).
