I've technically traveled from America to Japan by myself and I'm 17.

When a person is 18 or over, he/she may travel internationally independently. If a person is UNDER 18, he/she may travel internationally WITH his or her parents. If travelling internationally with only one parent or an adult other than a parent, then the absent parent or parents must provide a signed, notarized letter giving permission for the accompanying adult to take the minor out of the country. If the minor is over 14 and travelling internationally alone, he/she must carry a letter signed by both parents and notarized giving him/her permission to travel alone out of the country.

uh, actually yes. you can at any age. if you are young, and don't have a parent with you, the airline will provide a guardian to sit with you at the terminal and the flight attendants will be notified to pay special attention to you.

Yes, you can travel internationally alone. However, I would recommend you stick to some of the "safer" countries and hotels. Another thing that I did when I traveled alone was advise the hotel front desk that I am traveling alone so that they will look out for me if I ever check in late at night. I also left my room key at the front desk key deposit so every time I returned, they know. Some people might not want others to know that they are traveling alone due to safety, so it's up to you.Other than that, just be careful and if something/someone is giving you the wrong vibe, just walk away to somewhere safe.

yes, i travelled from USA to India and then back from India to USA when I was 17. I even drank some wine on the flight. lol
