beautiful=美麗,
而pretty可以是美麗, 也可以是醜陋, e.g. she is pretty ugly---她是否又美麗又醜陋呢?
又舉例: I am pretty sick---我是否病得很美麗呢?

"Beautiful" usually describes a mature female, a woman or a lady.

"Pretty" usually describes a younger female, a girl or a young female teenager.

Beautiful and pretty can mean the same thing. However, pretty can mean a lot or too much.
e.g. 1. I am pretty much broke.
2. A pretty mess you have made of it!

Pretty can mean in the near future.
1. I will become a lawyer pretty soon.

Another e.g. Pretty much the same - Almost the same.

Beautiful ：係真美麗，天然的。Mary is a beautiful girl. Since,she has natural beauty, she does not make-up herself. Pretty：係打扮或裝扮出來的。 Mary is a pretty girl, she is in pretty dress.

beautiful係形容人好 美麗同埋漂亮。
而pretty只是形容用於女性,小孩及小物件很漂亮、秀麗、可愛。
