7m^2=168+35m
7m^2-168-35m = 0
m^2 - 5m - 24 = 0
(m-8)(m+3) = 0--->m = 8, -3

7m^2 = 168 + 35m
7m^2 - 35m - 168 = 0
(7m^2 - 35m - 168)/7 = 0/7
m^2 - 5m - 24 = 0
m^2 + 3m - 8m - 24 = 0
(m^2 + 3m) - (8m + 24) = 0
m(m + 3) - 8(m + 3) = 0
(m + 3)(m - 8) = 0

m + 3 = 0
m = -3

m - 8 = 0
m = 8

∴ m = -3 , 8

-3, 8

okay i don't know if this is how i just gave it my best shot... you want the ms on the same side sooo

35m +168 = 7m^2

or 7m^2 - 35m = 168

get rid of exponent by multiply each factor by 2

168= 2(7m - 35m)
168 = 14m - 70m

then just solve to get m

i'm not sure if it would be 168/56 or 168/ -56

My algebra teacher had "the number one rule" and he would shout "Factor out! Factor out! Factor out!". So we always to remember to look for that first thing, because it makes it easier to solve.

This is a polynomial. You have to bring all the terms on one side and make the other side 0

7m^2=168+35m
7m^2-35m-168 = 0

Factor the answer out.

(x+3)(x-8) = 0
x = -3
x = 8
