How do you solving for x ? ?

okay so i did it just not sure

here is the problem
300=xq+n


my solution
300/q-n= xq+n/q-n

answer x= 300/q-n

is that right or wrong

300-n = xq
(300-n)/q=x

your wrong.

the right solution is:

300=xq+n we transpose +n to the left
300-n=xq divide both side by q
x=(300-n)/q answer @(^_^)@

its wrong.. to solve for x.. you gotta do opposite of whats being done to it. so n is being added to it.. so the opposite is you subtract n from both sides 1st.
300-n=xq
then x is being multiplied by q.. so the opposite is you divide both sides by q 2nd.
(300-n)/q=x
