98 Q34
suppose the reguired reserve ratio for banks is 20%.
Asset Liabilities
reserve $500 Deposits $1000
Loans $500

what is the max. amount of loans the bank can make?

Also some questions about the concept..
when the question said sth about 'the bank decide no to hold excess rederve..' and the questions asked will then be 'the max. possible change in DEPOSITS'
is that the excess reserve*1/rm =max possible cahnge in deposit?

some questions stated that the bank has reserve shortage,and asked for the max. possible change in bank loan.
Is that the reserve shortage*1/rm=max. possible change in bank loan?

The maximum amount of loans the bank can make is $2000

reguired reserve ratio = minimum reserve ratio
因為minimum reserve ratio 係20%, 所以把reserves$500/20%, 得出maximum deposits 係2500
reserves+loans 要等於deposits
$500+loans等於$2500
loans=$2000

change in bank loan, 如果本來bank loan係2500, 變成2800, change in bank loans 係2800-2500=300
