'09 Classic was great, lets talk 2010, your thoughts?

As much as I think Montreal is due, the game does not need to be promoted in Canada. The Winter Classic is a spectacle designed to be consumed by Americans on New Year's Day (that's why it's on NBC). It will continue to be played in US cities and feature two US teams, I think.

So, I think New York and Boston are the front runners for the 2010 game. Keeping it in baseball stadiums is a good idea - a little more intimate, no scheduling conflicts - so maybe next year it will be Fenway or the new Yankee Stadium. Of course, in that scenario it would have to be Boston vs. New York Rangers.

I'd say have it in NYC where there's for sure a marketable market (media, fans, etc.) But also have the Rangers playing a Canadian team, so it benefits both the American and Canadian markets.

I'm looking for either Toronto - Montreal or Boston - Montreal in Montreal.

I would like to see Boston vs. Montreal play in Foxboro. This is one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports. Everyone would enoy this game.

its gonna be the caps. First it was Crosby then the super power wings now it will be ovie and the caps

I heard they were thinking of having 3 a year, so every winter hockey town in the NHL could conceivably get a game with their team and another decent team, eventually.

i think the caps should be in it, i dont care if its here or some where else. Maybe they should Play some Canadian team

I don't think NY or Boston. Fenway is too fragile. New Yankee stadium will not be used for sure or steinbrenner will kill himself, and the new citi field is brand new. If they didn't tear down Shea or old yankee stadium, it could work, but otherwise they'll have to use a football stadium (and that is tough because the season will still be going). I think maybe more west. They did it in Buffalo and Chicago. Maybe like Toronto at the Skydome. It will be tough though.

i wish there was one more year at Yankee stadium b/c then the rangers could play boston in a hockey game at the venue. That being said, I would like to see another original six rivalry at fenway between the two aforementioned teams. Then in 2011 montreal and toronto in either city, so the Orig 6 get their share.
