Why was my question removed?

I asked a perfectly fine question; "What do you think of my Polyvore creations?" and a link and some more questions to get an opinion on what I could make better, I got some great answers, but today I got an email saying that the question was removed for violating community guidlines. They didn't even tell me what exactly, I checked and double checked I definetly did nothing wrong! I appealed it, but I'm so mad. How long will it take for it to be put right? Why could this have happened?

No it wasn't solicitation.

But everyone does it!

It sounds as if they thought you were just chatting, even though to me, it sounds like a perfectly standard question.
They do this to me all the time as well.

could have been considered chat. it usually takes 24 hours to hear back about your appeal. if your appeal is denied you lose 10 points (trust me I know). i had a answer reported for no reason. it was in voting. by the time i got my answer reposted it was to late for voting

That is a classic chat violation. This is not a chat room, so you can't ask for personal info or ask for individual opinions. Also, you are not to ask multiple questions in one. That can be consiodered point gaming.

Chat is defined in the YA Community Guidelines (link at bottom of every page). There are specific things listed that you may not think are chat, but Yahoo defines it that way and you have to live with it. You should go to the site dizzay.com and see what a YA type site looks like when chat is allowed.

Just stay away from questions that simply ask people's personal opinion or personal information. Those can sometimes be ok, but most of the time they are chat. Stick with questions that only ask for facts, figures, and data like a teacher might ask in school. You can ask for example Paris Hilton's age, but you can't ask what people thought of her dress. You can ask "What is a good SUV for a big family?", but not "What type of SUV do you drive?".

Chatting is asking questions that can only be answered with personal opinion and to which only you and the answerer will give a hoot. You can tell most of these by the presence of pronouns (I,we,you,me,us) or pronoun adjectives (your, mine, ours). If these are present your question will be chat 90% of the time and if you can not rewrite the question without them, it is chat 99% of the time.

People have different takes on violations, but I hope you will reread the community guidelines for other types of questions that are not allowed and specifically spelled out such as Fill in the Blank questions (link at the bottom of the page).

Starting off your question with "What do you think?" sounds like chat. It might have been better to say "How can I improve...?." It's hard to say without exactly seeing how you worded the question. It sounds like it might have been on the borderline of what Yahoo defines as "chat." I know this is upsetting. Also, did you put it in the correct category?

I know this is upsetting. Here's a link to what Yahoo considers chat:

Sorry this happened to you. Better luck in the future.

Your question is considered chatting since you were not seeking knowledge that was useful to the general membership. Any time you ask for a personal rating you violate the guidelines.
Everyone does it, does not make it right. Read the guidelines again.

Because you answer the question incorrectly.
