you know how speed is measured in things like km/hr or miles/hour, or meters/second

all of those things are have a distance measure on top and a time measure on the bottom. (that's distance / time)

remember:

Speed = distance / time
speed = 500 miles / 13 hours
= 38.46 miles/ 1 hour (2dp)
= 40miles/hour (nearest 10)

just divide.

Average speed = 500/13 mph

.

His exact speed was 38.461538 mph. Rounded up to the nearest ten would be 40 mph.

500/13 = 38.5 miles per hour.

38-40 miles per hour. If you could only write ONE of these answers then I hope you rounded up.
