To find the x-intercept, sub in y=0

2x + 3y = -18
2x + 3(0) = -18
2x = -18
x =-9

To find the y-intercept, sub in x=0

2x + 3y = -18
2(0) + 3y = -18
3y = -18
y = -6

Therefore:

x-intercept is –9; y-intercept is –6.

x-intercept: set y = 0

2x = - 18
x = - 9

y-intercept: set x = 0

3y = - 18
y = - 6

Y-intercept:
2x + 3y = -18

Let x = 0.
2x + 3y = -18
2(0) + 3y = -18
3y = -18
y = -18/3
y = -6

= = = = = = = =

X-intercept:
2x + 3y = -18

Let y = 0.
2x + 3y = -18
2x + 3(0) = -18
2x = -18
x = -18/2
x = -9

∴ the answer is the fourth option.

to get x -intercept and y intercept, we substitute y=0 to
2x+3y=-18

2x+3(0)=-18

2x=-18
x=-9

x=0

2(0)+3y=-18
3y=-18
y=-6

answer is x-intercept is -9 y-intercept is -6 @(^_^)@

2x + 3y = -18 ........................................................[1]
x-intercept means, when y = 0, substitute this in eqn[1]
2x = -18, therefore x-intercepts is: x = -9
For y-intercepts x = 0, we get 3y = -18 OR y = -6 Answer

Put the eqn into the form y = mx + b:

3y = -2x - 18
y = (-2/3)x - 6

y-int is the value of y when x = 0, therefore y-int is -6

x-int is the value of x when y = 0, therefore:

2x = -3y - 18
x = (-3/2y) - 9

y-int is -9.

set y=mx+b and b is the y intercept. which is -6
now the only answer with a y intercept of -6 is the last one. so by process of elimination, x intercept is -9

x-intercept is -9
y-intercept is -6

x-intercept is –9; y-intercept is –6.
