x^7(x^3)(x)=x^11 answer
2008-12-28 12:31 pm
= (x^7)(x^3)(x)
= (x^10)(x)
= x^11

Answer: x^11

Another way:
= (x^7)(x^3)(x)
= (x^7)(x^4)
= x^11

x^7 * x^3 * x
= x^7 * x^3 * x^1
= x^(7 + 3 + 1)
= x^(10 + 1)
= x^11

You can see how it works if you put in a value for x. Say x=2:

2^7 is 2 multiplied by itself 7 times. That is, 2*2*2*2*2*2*2
Likewise 2^3 = 2*2*2
and 2 (which is 2^1) = 2

So 2^7 * 2^3 * 2^1 = 2*2*2*2*2*2*2 * 2*2*2 * 2 = 2^11

Same with any x; you just count up the powers 7+3+1 =11

x^7*x^3*x

ok well when you multiply numbers with the same base you add the powers:
eg.

a^b * a^c = a^(b+c)

Therefore your solution is x^11

all you have to do is add the coefficients. 7+3+1=11 so its x^11. try it out, put 2 in for x and do 2^7 which equals 128 then multiply that by 2^3 which equals 8 and you get 1024, then the other x^1 so multiply 1024 by 2 and you get 2048 which is the same as 2^11

To multiply powers with the same base, add the indices:

(x^7)(x^3)(x) = x^(7+3+1)
= x^11

as base is same u can add all powers so x^11

when exponents are multiplied (with like bases, in this case all are based in x)
just add exponents
x^11

that's 7+3+1= 11 that is your power all w/the base x
