what is powers like 5 to the power of 2 i dont get it please explain what to do?

The first number is called the base. The second number, usually smaller and written slightly above the line is the power or exponent.
It means to multiply the base (in your example 5) 2 times. So it is
5 * 5 or 25. If it were five to the power of 3 it would be 5*5*5 or 125.

5 to the power of 2 = 5^2 or 5 squared -- which means 5 times 5.
5^3 means 5 cubed -- which means 5 x 5 x 5.

5x5
if it sed 5 to the power of 3
then its 5x5x5

Powers is the number of times you multiply the base number to itself. for example, 2 to the power of 4 (can also be written as 2^4) would be 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 which would be 16. Another example is 5^3. this would be 5 x 5 x 5=125
