y = -2x - 1
If x = 3 , y = -6,
-6 = -2(3) - 1
-6 = -6 - 1
-6 ≠ -7 (the point isn't on the graph of the equation)
If x = 1 , y = -3,
-3 = -2(1) - 1
-3 = -2 - 1
-3 = -3 (the point is on the graph of the equation)
∴ (1,-3) is on the graph of the equation.
