Who knows more about losing? The Lions or the Raiders? ?

What's worse? Having an 0-16 season like the Detroit Lions? Or setting an NFL record for six consecutive seasons of 11 or more losses AND the most consecutive losses to a division rival (San Diego Chargers) like the Raiders?

It's one thing to be consistent for one whole season, but to do be consistent over several seasons is very difficult and rare.

So I'm going to give this one to the Raiders. Mainly because they made some of the most brilliant moves in the offseason. Signing Hall (who they released a couple weeks back) and also Walker (who has barely played at all for the Raiders) to monster contracts without any thought...

as a LIONS fan I would have to say losing 11 games in a row for 6 straight seasons cause the Lions were 7-9 last year not that bad, however the Raiders have lost at least 11 games in the past 6 seasons.

The poor Lions are worse. The Raiders have numerous SB appearances and trophies. The Lions have none.

At one time the Raiders had the highest winning percentage of any professional sports team ever, but since the tuck rule they've been in free-fall.

At least the Raiders won super bowls and championships in the past, plus they have the best all time winning percentage of the AFC West teams. The Lions haven't even won a Super Bowl.

Wow, that's a tough. Both cases are extreme, but I would think that losing every game in one season would be harder to take plus the Raiders have had success back in the day. So I would have to say the Lions.

I would have to say a 0-16 season is worse. I mean come on it's got to be embarrasing to lose EVERY game! Has anyone ever done that before? I'm a Titan's fan & I didn't even watch the Titans vs Lions because I knew the Lions didn't have a chance.

The Lions, at least the Raiders have won three Super Bowls more than Lions and Chargers. When has the Chargers won a Super Bowl???

I think to correctly answer your question you should look at past, present, and future.

Past clearly goes to the Raiders - 5 Super Bowl appearances, 3 Wins, Winningest franchise, all that. Lions couldn't even win enough with Barry - perhaps the greatest of all time. Not even close.

Present is a tie. Both suck, records for both being bad (0-15 for Detroit, 11 loses X6 for Oakland), embarrassed, beaten, trodden... NFL doormats.

Future is close, but better for Oakland. Russell is growing although slowly, McFadden is a beast in waiting. Need WR and OL help. Defense is actually pretty good. Lions have Calvin Johnson and.... well .... Calvin Johnson. Their defense.... well, they have Calvin Johnson. On offense they, well, have Calvin Johnson. 'Nuff said.

The Lions knows more about losing but the Raiders are an embarrassment to the League. Detroit have not ever been a real good football team but they have had decent years. But the Raiders a team that went to the super bowl not to long ago and now look at them. One would never know that the Raiders was once a proud football franchise if they did not know about football history.

The Lions. Occasionally, the Raiders have successful seasons.
