What's the meaning of "as far as i am concerned..."?

i ve been hearing ppl say this a lot, but im not entirelyl sure what it means. Would someone please clarify, and possibly give me some examples..thanks =)

It means 'from my perspective' or 'as it relates to me.' For instance, "As far as I'm concerned affirmative action is pretty useless." The speaker does not benefit from affirmative action, so affirmative action doesn't positively affect their 'concerns,' or best interests.
