Before going through any of that I would think a doctor would ask you about your stress level. It sounds as though you may be having anxiety attacks, or panic attacks.
I'm not a doctor by any means, but I have been a long time sufferer of panic attacks, the first of which were so bad I called an ambulance. I swore my chest was caving in. I felt as if I was gasping for air. The EMT told me what I was experiencing. He gave me a paper bag and told me to breathe in it next time it happened. To my amazement, it worked. A couple years went by before the logic behind it was explained to me. Breathing in a paper bag, as I understand it anyway, forces you to breathe in your own carbon dioxide (versus oxygen), which slows down your heart rate. Inevitably just the calming of your body seems to give you a little bit of control over the situation. Understanding what you are going through while you are going through it seems to help as well, versus not having a clue, which leaves you feeling like you don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Additionally, understanding it helps you to realize there is another issue at hand. There are all of the obvious ways of dealing with that. There is free counseling in most cities & states. And of course you can always talk to your doctor, who may understand your health and other specifics about you that will aid in diagnosing any other potential problems.
If its not anxiety attacks or panic attacks you are experiencing, then you may need to see a different doctor than the one you've been seeing. I don't know what else those symptoms could be contributed too. Good luck!
