since you have an inequality, i think thats wat its called, then you don't treat it as an equals sign, if you have a negative and ur trying to get rid of it (-0.2) and u divide both sides by it, you have to flip the sign. so therefore you get x > 16/.2 so over all all u get x is greater than 80 or x>80. think about it in numbers, not variables. when u see a negative, move it over and flip

- 0.2x < - 16
5(- 0.2x) < 5(- 16)
- x < - 80
x > 80

Answer: x > 80

0.2 x > 16
x > 16 / 0.2
x > 80

-0.2x < -16
x > -16/-0.2
x > 80

-0.2x<-16

Divide by -0.2 on both sides.
Then, the direction of "<" should be changed into ">" since multiplied by negative number.

Therefore, the answer is x>80.

-0.2x < -16
x > 80
Note that when you divide by a negative, you switch the sign

Hope this helps

= -0.2x < -16
= x> -16 divided by -0.2
= x> 80

THe sign changes when you divide a number by a negative.

divide both sides by -0.2

x < -16/-0.20
x < 80
