naturally occuring bromine(relative atomic mass=79.9) consists of a mixture of only two isotopes:Br(mss number 79) and Br(mas number 81).Calculate the percentage abundance of the two isotopes in natural bromine.

Let X% and Y% be the abundance of Br(mass number79) and Br(mass number 81) respectively.

(79)(X%) + (81)(Y%) =79.9 ...

✔ 最佳答案
because you already know that it is a mixture of 2 isotopes
so,

X%+Y%=100

(79)(X%)+(81)(1-X%)=79.9

-2X%=-1.1

X=55%
