Dress code means that all guests must be dressed in style, in this case the theme is "Moulin Rouge". Clothing can contain materials such as feathers, hats, head pieces, can-can dresses, frilly short skirts and stockings. The theme covers Moulin Rouge from the "fin de sicle" until the days of Irma la Douce.
A theme party does not mean that you need to buy or rent expensive clothes ... use your imagination instead. I assume that all of you have seen the movie ... so be creative in what you wear.
Don't let the dress code hinder you to join the party and have fun. Woman can improvise with a black or red evening dress. Add some frills to a corset and match it with a flowing skirt gathered high up on your thigh. Men dig out your tux or put on your suspenders and hat.
The best dressed man or woman at the party
will receive a surprise gift.
Hi,
" Dress code" is usually defined in terms of what is approriate for
people to wear for different events.
There are formal clothes, semi-formal clothes, causal wear and then so on.
For example, insurance agents and managers are supposed to wear suits . It would be absurd if you saw someone wearing undies in a church.

Clothing is an aspect of human physical appearance, and like other aspects of human physical appearance it has social significance. All societies have dress codes, most of which are unwritten but understood by most members of the society. The dress code has built in rules or signals indicating the message being given by a person's clothing and how it is worn. This message may include indications of the person's social class, income, occupation, ethnic and religious affiliation, attitude, marital status, sexual availability and sexual orientation. Clothes convey other social messages including the stating or claiming personal or cultural identity, the establishing, maintaining, or defying social group norms, and appreciating comfort and functionality.
