A company has a website. That website talks to customers.

A person has a blog. That blog talks to people.

The technology is different also.

A blogsite presents information in a reverse-chronological order - like a magazine or diary with the most recent information first. Also, blogsites are similar to message boards in that it encourages readers to provide comment/feedback and thus create a channel of communication between the writer and readers.

A website can be any site on the Internet that presents information. Information can be anything and in any order. Most websites' purpose is to transfer information from writer to reader, and doesn't necessarily requires or encourages two-way communication.

Internet-wise, nothing a blogsite is a type of website.
But subject-wise, a blogsite is generally composed completely of blog posts related to particular topics, whereas a regular website is usually composed of some sort of product or learning tool.
Hope that helped.

A blog is a sort of online journal that can include text, images and video. The word `website` just refers to any website.
