Try anything and everything! Chinese food doesn't exist in the US. I really miss the food there. Everything is ridiculously cheap, too. I heard hot pot is really good, but it can get expensive, so go with friends! They've got some interesting pizzas, too. If you're in Beijing, try to spring the cash to check out the famous duck restaurant. Pretty expensive, but delicious! Lastly, try out all the American fast food restaurants, because they'll have some really interesting things you're not used to seeing, like corn salad at KFC or taro flavor pies at McD's.

well, you probably won't find beef and broccoli and sweet-&-sour pork, nor would you expect to get a fortune cookie. Depending on where in China you're visiting, North - make sure to try the noodle soups and steamed buns (they have pork bun, as well as veggie buns). South - seafood! Also, if you're up for it, try street food in Hong Kong.
