Significant Figures basically mean the number of digits that are concerned, and so, Significant. This can vary from question to question, but in science and mathematics people usually use 3 significant figures.
That means, your answer should be accurate to 3 digits. 62.84 is 4 digits, which means that this is more accurate that 3 sig fig. this is 4 sig fig.
What you should do then is to round that 4th digit off, leaving only 3 digits.
Should you round the front or back one then? The back, because if you round the front off, its totally not accurate. Which is more equal to 62.84? 2.84 or 62.8?
So there you are, you shave off the back one, getting an answer of 62.8! Done.

If the number was 62.85 or 62.86 then the answer correct to 3 sig figures would've been 62.9

Hope this helps.
