Why does China copy practically everything?

They copy the F-16 fighter jet and made a similar version of their own, now they copy the FAMAS and made a rifle that looks like it. They also copy a lot of other stuff too.

China did NOT invent paper and the printing press.

--------EDIT-----------------------

The earliest recorded forms of paper were in use in Egypt in around 3500 BC.

The earliest recorded use of a moveable brass printing press is in Muslim Spain around 1350 A.D.

Johannes Gutenberg is credited in 1454 for developing the most sophisticated printing press of the Middle Ages.

Therefore, China did not invent paper. China did not invent the printing press.

If you want to talk about copying, why didn't you include the Japanese, too? They copied a lot of things, too, but they made something better out of them...best example - cars. More people drive Japanese cars.

There wouldn't be advancement if everyone has to "invent" everything themselves. People copy because they see the good in something and want to replicate it and/or make it better.

You know theres a saying
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

And mike P is so right, he looks a changed man each day.

I don't see you saying that the designer of the F-16 is worthless.

Ignore every one else and their non-answers. We are lucky China didn't charge us for paper patent? LOL They were Europe's ***** couldn't stop them from taking anything they wanted.

China is a developing economy with a huge population. Creative industries are still developing, but low-cost manufacturing industries are everywhere. They are trying to learn from how the western countries grew and imitate that growth. The country or its population simply cannot afford all types of official products, but as they become more Westernized, have a growing demand for it. Also it is very hard to enforce intellectual property rights in China, as enforcing bodies are very weak. There is a strong domestic and global market for imitation products and all these factors make China the logical place for this production. Militarily, they are behind and have little hope of developing totally new technology, and US companies would not be allowed to work with themdirectlyy, so it is more efficient for them to copy previous designs.

In modern society it's a shame that China never protect other country's intellectual property rights.

But you should not care about it because they copy many things but they can't make them better. It's the big difference between countries like Japan or Germaney and China.

Who care about fake, low quality Chinese product?

It cant be helped because China invented "Copy" too.

Nice thread guys.

China has a history of inventing alot of things. That's just not true now. However it has nothing to do with the worth or ability of a nation. I just think that's just where they are in the trek up the industrialization and modernization ladder.

It's much easier to get off to a running start copying other things, especially cheaper, easier things to manufacture. Japan was like this. Korea was like this. Taiwan was like this.

Slowly though you start to get more and more proficient, creative, and entrepreneurial people out of this process and the innovation starts to take off. Now the three countries mentioned which also used to be notorious for cheap and poorly made copies are now never, ever mentioned as such and are economic powerhouses (global recession notwithstanding) build more on innovation than on copies.

China will get there too if it wants to, eventually.

do not document a police checklist the girl dealt with it ok. i think of that now that the girl has had to pay 500 money because of the fact of her canines she will have the ability to attempt to make helpful that doesn't ensue back. yet till you have seen evidence of that ie. a taller fence, a kennel pass up. i might recommend monitoring your canines very heavily while they're out doorways. You destructive component, i'm sorry and a 9 mo. pregnant women folk shouldn't must be dealing with canines fights! solid success!

if they don't copy some of the inventions and technologies, how would they have them?
basically people are copying from each other, that's called cultural exchange and was very common in Europe as well as Americas
