Hey I'm 15 and I've had eczema since i was born too.
My eczema used to only be on the backs of my knees, during my primary years it sometimes spread to my elbows. I thought i got rid of it from age 10 till 15 however It came back after i done a outdoor activity lesson which meant i had to jump into a lake. My eczema come back worse than ever and i've learnt my lesson. My eczema now is on the back of my left knee, on the side of left calve and on my right hand. I don't know how and why its only on one side of different parts of my body.
Um not really a lot to say the itching really affects me though lol. When i was a baby I used to use oilatum but that gave me spots on my legs as i used to bath in it. I've used E45 bath stuff and that did help. I find my eczema used to get worse during the summer but nowadays its during the winter. My hand as a result of this. I've used hand cream on my hand and its softer and not as itchy anymore so i'm thrilled. I sometimes wish that my eczema would go away seeing as i've had it for this long yet i know people have had it longer then me but it does get to me. I do feel subconscious and stuff but I'm coping.
When i get stressed that's when it seems to flare up, i would be stressed and then upset due to other factors and then my eczema would flare up causing me more stress and more upset. I've tried cutting out dairy but that done nothing really.I done that for about two months as well. I'm coping with my eczema really well nowadays.
I use a lemon soap on my legs where the biggest area is. Then use a cream to moisturise my legs after my bath. I put on a hand cream and these do help take away the itching just not so much the dryness and redness (except my hand) Sorry this is a long answer probably my longest answer i've ever wrote before but its helped me figure out i need to really moisturise my legs. Thank you for listening and I hope your eczema is controlled :) xx
