Chief Operating Officer, Greater China, IHG

Edmond is the Chief Operating Officer, Greater China for IHG, Asia Pacific. He oversees the group's operations in Greater China, including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and is responsible for the region's business operations and development. He also drives the performance of the Group's managed, joint-venture, franchised and owned hotels in these key territories.

Edmond spearheads development initiatives for IHG and works with senior management across the hotels to ensure seamless service and superior hospitality standards, consistent with the world's most global hotel group. In recognition of his contributions to the Group and to the hotel industry, Edmond has been named one of the top 10 personalities in China's hotel industry by the Hotel Modernization Magazine in China.

Prior to taking on his current position in 2001, Edmond was Senior Vice President for Development & Technical Services in Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for driving the Group's acquisitions and investment interests in Australia and China. Edmond joined IHG in 1997 and held various senior management positions including Managing Director of South Asia, Indian Sub-continent and Australia and Managing Director of Holiday Inn Asia Pacific.

Edmond is a veteran of the hospitality industry with over 30 years of experience in finance and hotel management. Prior to joining IHG, he was the Executive Vice President of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, which he co-founded. He was also formerly the Executive Director of CDL Hotel International and Vice President of Finance & Accounting at Hyatt International, based in Chicago.
