What I am sure is that for cancer patients, they wear hats so as to reduce blood supply to their hair, and thus reducing toxic medicine's effect on hair follicles, so hair loss could be reduced. But in your case, reducing blood supply may also reduce nutrient going to the follicle, so hair loss is probable. But the problem is if your hair loss is related to male sex hormone, then wearing caps has nothing to do with it.

You see my point here? Maybe you should first find out the reason for your hair loss. (pardon me for Chinese-English answer^^)
