Accommodation in Hong Kong is generally more expensive than most of other Chinese cities. Most of the cheap lodgings are located in remote areas of New Territories.
Here is a hotel list for your chioce: http://www.chinatravel.com/hong-kong/hotel/
If yes, I stay there everytime I go to HK. It's very convenient: part of the Harbour City and Ocean Terminal malls; walk out the front door, ferry terminal to China and Macau on your right, MTR just two blocks straight, ferry to Central and WanChai just a few blocks left. It's just on the edge of TST so traffic is still ok if you ever take a taxi. If I remember correctly, 7-11 just across the street to get snacks, smokes, drinks, etc. I don't eat in the hotel though, because there is a food court just inside Harbour City (3rd floor) and food there is cheap and good, plus there are tons of restaurants inside the malls and across the street.
it's a 4 stars hotel in HK under the Marco Polo group. so not bad~~~ it has been renovated. upstairs of the largest mall in HK = Harbour City. http://www.harbourcity.com.hk/
