25-3x=-8 what is x? how did u get x?

25-3x=-8

firstly....you bring together the "like" terms together....so bring the "-8" over the equals sign changing it to "+8"....and bring the "-3x" over to the other side changing it to "+3x" or 3x

this looks like...

25 + 8 = 3x

get it?

now you solve the first addition part...

33 = 3x
------------------------------------------------------

next...you bring over the "3" beside the "33"...making the multiplication part into a division...(just remember the rule....change the side? then change the sign) =D

this looks like...

33/3 = x
11 = x

25 - 3 x 11 = -8
