Not quite a police state but the police are being over politicised.
Parliament are passing laws which are totally unnecessary and this is simply confusing the police and the copper on the street (or actually in a car most of the time) are as confused as the public regarding what is or is not allowed.
Alana c - try telling the photographers who have been arrested for innocently taking pictures, the people who have tried to protest and been arrested, the gentleman at the labour party conference who was arrested for shouting "rubbish", the many thousands of innocent people who have their details on police files etc etc.
The Nothing to hide = nothing to fear statement is normally made by people who have no idea whatsoever what is actually happening.
As you have nothing to hide you won't mind having a cctv camera being installed in your front room and bedroom and a tracking chip installed in your arm.
