Getting from Seattle to Whistler BC?

I've purchased inexpensive direct flights from NY to Seattle. What is the best way to get from Seattle to Whistler. Drive or van service? How long is the trek? Should I cancel and get flights to vancouver to Whistler which will not be direct and probably be much longer even though I'll be closer?

Keep your NY to Seattle flight. Any flights that crosses the border will be expensive. Instead, from Seatac, take the greyhound to Vancouver Airport. Then from Vancouver Airport, take the Pacific Coach Lines to Vancouver train terminal on Main Street. Then, hop on the Whistler train and it'll take you up to Whistler. This way, you don't have to worry about driving, road conditions, directions, and you can enjoy the scenic train ride up to Whistler.

The actual drive from Seattle to Vancouver takes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours, including the wait at the border crossing.
Then, the drive up to Whistler is about 2 hours long, so altogether you would be looking at a 6 hour drive.
There are inexpensive flights from Seatac to YVR(Vancouver airport, where you can rent a car). There is no airport near Whistler.
The best way to get from Seattle to Whistler would be to fly to Seattle, fly to Vancouver airport and drive to Whistler.
If you don't want to drive, you can take a bus to Pacific Central Station and purchase a ticket on a Greyhound Canada bus that will take you directly to Whistler.

Keep your NY to Seattle direct tickets if they were a really good deal, and I know they can be. The time you spend on a connecting flight might as well be spent driving to Whistler from Seattle, and you won't believe what you'll probably pay to get a direct flight to Vancouver or a flight from Seattle to Vancouver, and with airport waiting times you might not even save any time if you fly and have to wait for a connecting flight somewhere. Also, if you're crossing the border by bus, you don't need a passport yet. There are reasonably priced shuttles from Seatac airport to Vancouver downtown or airport, and shuttles from Vancouver downtown or airport to Whistler. Check the shuttle schedules(just search 'shuttle Seattle Vancouver' or similar) but the drive from Seatac to Vancouver is probably about 3 to 3.5 hours, and from Vancouver airport to Whistler maybe 2 hours. Depending on traffic of course.

Whistler is 1 1/2 hour drive north of Vancouver. From SeaTac in Seattle to vancouver is about 2.5 hours depending on the border. So all together from seaTac about 4 hour trek but very nice scenic drive. You can rent vehicles in seatac and drive up to whistler. Flights between US cities generally much cheaper than flights from US to vancouver and you'll pay for a rental car either way so that might be cheapest option (into seatac)

If you fly direct to vancouver there are good bus connections to whistler. I am not sure if thre are direct connections from seatac?
