I have an Olympus digital camera?

the pictures taken when view on its LCD display, the color is clear and vivid, when view on a laptop, color quality is also good but when viewed on the desktop the color becomes dull and cloudy.

The same happens regardless to the camera is connected to computer through USB or with XD Card plugged in directly.

The OS of laptop is Vista Home Premium and the desk top is Home Basic.

What is the cause?

The color quality of the monitor is good besides displaying the digital pictures.

You probably need to do some color calibration for your monitor. In Linux, there's a tool to help do this. Don't know about Vista, though. Maybe the monitor manufacturer has something at their site.
