Cover four areas in your life: your early years, education, work experience, and your current situation. Keep your complete answer to about 2 minutes; don't ramble or elaborate. This is your 2-minute self-introduction and you will be very accomplished at giving it by the time you are in job interviews. Because this question usually comes early in the interview, you will gain confidence by knowing you can answer it well.

An example of self-introduction

My name is Tachi. I am 25 years old. After graduation from form 5, I have been working as a salesman in xxx company for five years. During my day-to-day work, I have to serve customers speaking different languages such as Cantonese, Putonghua and English. I realized that better language ability is a great advantage and can enable me to communicate better with customers. So, to upgrade my competitiveness, I am now studying Putonghua and English classes after work at night.

The reason why I decided to leave my current job is that I desire to seek a new job with better career prospects. And your company is what I am looking for. I am interested in selling cosmetics and so I applied for this post. With my past working experience and my outgoing personality, I am confident that I can manage this job well.

My colleagues usually describe me as “serious and responsible”. And I get along well with others in my working environment. So, I hope I can have an opportunity to join your company and be part of your team.
