there is a weight limit for luggages, but i don't remember what it was. for the
羽絨, it depends on where you are planning on getting it in hk. there are places that sell cheap 羽絨 in u.s. but if you want one that has higher qualitiy, then it might be more expensive. but if you want it to suit the weather better, then i would recommend you to get it in u.s. for school, don't bring any files or papers because the papers and files in u.s. are different. but if you want to bring pencil or something like that, thats okay too. you also need to bring your report cards of at least the last three years. Bring more clothes, though the ones in u.s. suit the weather better, the clothes in u.s. are more expensive, but the quality is good, so it depends on if you want it to be cheap or if you want it to be high quality. you might also want to bring some pills for cold and flu and etc because it is really expansive to see the doctor in u.s. without insurance or mediacid. i have no idea how you can get large amount of money into u.s. because my mom is the one who took care of those stuff, so sorry.

1----- yes, of course there are laugage weight limit la.
the large one is 45 kg, the carry on is about a woman big hand bag size.
you can bring more and pay for the shippment, but it charge very high.

2------bring a nice warm one you can find in HK, because you need a warm
coat right now. you can buy another one if you want later when you do
shopping. HK clothing style is little different than in US.

3----- bring all travel papers, school records, personal durgs, under clothing,
some simple daily and personal stuff is must. the college store sell
most of things you may need.

4------ clothing, food, PC--- about 600 USD

5------ bring about couple thousand USD is enough la, bring in too much
cash at one time is not safe...after you arrived the school, you can go
to any nearby bank, use your passport to open a bank checking and
savingaccount, then whenever you need money, ask people in HK
wire you the money direct to your checking account. that easy. you
will received the moeny in couple days.

you should not bring in too much stuff to school from the beginning, there are always shops , restaurants, supermarkets, drug stores.......etc. near the school compus. oh, one more thing----- don't buy too many Hk shoes. it can not last long by walking on cold and hard US ground.
