(a)Since there are 30 students, the median should be the average of student #15 & #16.
in another word, student #15's height should be 176cm & student #16's height should be 177cm
Therefore 6+a = 15, or a = 9
b+5+3+1 = 15 = 6
(b)
If the median is 177cm, both student #15 & student #16's height must be 177cm, so a < 9, and b>6
