I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I was never able to take birth control due to the estrogen making me sick. Now that I am pregnant I am very sick and I cant imagine going through this for another month or 2! I was wondering what can help? My doctor prescribed me medicine; some kind of motion sickness medicine...but its not helping one bit. PLEASE HELP

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do with morning sickness. The best advice is to drink and eat lightly ... drink water or ginger-ale, eat saltine crackers, carrots, dry chicken or turkey breast, etc. These were the only foods I could stomach in the first couple months of my pregnancy. Other than that, just rest as much as you can.

I had really bad morning sickness as well! I found that eating something before I even got of bed, such as a piece of bread, really helped! For me it was hard to even try to force anything down but once I did, it helped a lot! I ate alot of snacks throughout the day which made a huge difference as well! I also bought some preggie pops and those seemed to work ok, although they didn't help for too long! Peppermint hard candies help a little as well! I'm now 15 weeks along and thankfully the morning sickness has subsided. Hopefully, you can find something that works for you too! Good luck!

Try chicken soup with LOTS of ginger. Something about the fresh ginger, and warm chicken soup helps calm things down. Try not to drink too much ginger ale as it'll make you bloated (I did for a week and it only made things worse afterwards).

Another thing, go for a walk or if you are too sick to move, just sit outside for fresh air. Just sit there, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. It'll make you feel better.

crackers trust this from someone who thinks pregnancy is not for everyone. I had the worse morning sickness. It's finally gone after 13 weeks. Also fruits are good. Good luck with it. Stay positive i'm trying but right now i'm going through the gas stage at 14 weeks.

Sorry you feel so bad,

Different things work for different people,

If your doctor prescribed the motion sickness one maybe he will go up a couple of grades to Zophran, it is the king of morning sickness pills, and does help - my morning sickness was extreme and it only helped a little, but for most people it helps a bunch.

Find out if there is any triggers, Sugar, Caffeine, cheese, potatoes, tomato sauce, and stick with whatever seems to help, I gave up soda because it made me feel worse.

Take it easy and keep busy it will help a little.

Anything ginger is a great natural remedy.
If you are really sick and at risk of becomming dehydrated, your Dr might prescribe a stronger antiemetic.
I was admitted for dehydration and severe sickness in my first trimester and was prescribed Maxalon and Cyclizine. They were great. I felt like me again.
Ondansetron is another strong antiemetic. There is a very slight risk to your baby when taking these medications, so your Dr will be cautious about prescribing them. My pregnancy was at risk, so it was better to take the chance.
My babies are absolutely fine and growing well, though.

With my first son if I went to the bathroom as soon as i got out of bed and threw up then i was usually fine most of the day, if I did not go do that first I would be sick all day long

I always popped a few altoids and that eased my nausea. Other than that I ate saltines and drank ginger ale. Hope you feel better soon.
