* 1 feet = 12 inches *

6 inches : 7 feet
6 inches : 7 * 12 inches <--- convert 7 feet into inches (same unit)
6 inches : 84 inches <--- simplify
1 : 14 <--- final answer

OR

6 inches : 7 feet
6/12 feet : 7 feet <--- convert 6 inches into feet (same unit again)
1/2 : 7 <--- simplify
1/2 * 2 : 7 * 2 <--- simplify
1 : 14 <--- final answer

I hope I can help you =]

Not 6/7. It is 6/84 or 1/14

You need to convert it to the same unit.
6 inches = 0.5 feet
so...
0.5:7 or 1:14

If you want to express it as a ratio, its already in simplest form, there are no common factors to simplify this. As a fraction it would be 6 over7 and already in simplest form again
