Let length of the longer wire = x.
so length of the shorter wire = 53 - x.
Side of the equilateral triangle = x/3.
Side of the square = (53-x)/4.
Since side of square is 6cm shorter than the triangle, therefore,
x/3 - 6 = (53-x)/4
4x - 72 = 3(53 - x)
4x - 72 = 159 - 3x
7x = 231
x = 231/7 = 33 = length of longer wire.
53 - 33 = 20 = length of shorter wire.

Let 3x cm be the length of longer wire,

therefore the length of shorter wire is 4(x-6) cm

4(x-6) + 3x = 53
4x-24+3x = 53
7x = 77
x = 11

therefore, the length of longer and shorter wire are 33 cm and 20 cm
