You want x by itself and a number on the other side.

Subtract 6 from both side:

x/4 = 2

Multiply both sides by 4:

x = 8

do things in reverse order of operations. subtract 6 from both sides to get x/4 = 2. multiply both sides by 4 to get x = 8. Hope this helps

you subtract 6 from 8, which will give you 2. then you multiply that 2 by 4 .then you get x=8.
