Hi,
e.g Do you like chocolate?
The person wants to know if you like eating chocolate.
( Is chocolate your favorite thing?)
e.g Would you like chocolate?
add( some) in the sentence.
1) Would you like some chocolate?( a polite way of asking people
something or offering people something.)
2) Would you care for some chocolate?
1) and 2) mean " Someone is offering you some chocolate.
He wants to know if you want to eat some."

" Would" is the past tense of " will".<-------------------
1) I am going there.(very Sure)
2) I will go. ( high possibility)
2) I would go. ( lower possibility)
4) I will be going there. ( possible too)
5) Would you like to come with me? ( would<- in a question to show
politeness.)
6) My friend told me that he would call Mr Lee.( past tense)
told --------------------------would ( the past tense of " will")

Hope that helps.
Bye

Do you like chocolate? 係問人鍾唔鍾意食朱古力, 就factual 既問題,而

would you like (some) chocolate? 係情景性既問題,例如你有d朱古力想請人食,想問人要唔要, 就可以問would you like (some) chocolate?
