Help! Severe sore throat relief?
Can anyone provide some suggestions? I've been suffering from a sore throat, nasal congestion, and low fever for four days now and tonight it is exceptionally excruciating. I have been taking Tylenol Cold the liquid (ran out of that), 400mg of Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours, some prescription antiseptic mouth wash called Magic Mouth Wash, tried mucinex and claritin, gargled with salt water, drank warm honey water, ate popsicles and have been drinking plenty of water. I have tried everything I have in the house. I have no money and no insurance so going to a Dr is out of the question. Does anybody have any ideas?

The first thing that comes to mind is cayenne. Take about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp in a half glass of warm water and drink it. Don't chug, but don't sip. It will stimulate the blood flow to the throat and help clear up whatever it may be. I'm not saying it's an enjoyable thing, just that it will help. :)
You've done just about everything you can. You might try getting more vitamin c, actually taking vitamin c tablets would probably be best. Stay away from dairy right now too. Do keep up with the honey, you might try it in green tea instead of water, lemon is also good (in tea or water). Get some cough drops if you don't have any, honey, menthol, there are even vitamin c cough drops.
But honestly, don't play around with a sore throat, they can be very dangerous and if this one isn't going away you might be pushing it. You might look for a clinic or something and most hospitals won't turn you away and will work on payment arrangements with you. If you can find a medical school nearby you could even be treated there for much, much less. The search engine below can help you find one if you get desperate.
try eating some pears ,cucumbers, green grams soup, kiwis . u can't eat anything hot, roast ,such as cayenne
A hot whiskey/water with lemon & honey? I would also up my dose of Ibuprofen. Suck on Vitamin C, and Chloraseptic Spray works pretty good, too. Sorry you feel so crappy. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
Hot tea with lots of honey!
Take Tylenol extra strength ( 1 pill every 4 - 6 hrs) instead of advil, and keep drinking hot fluids. Make sure you leave a gap of 4 hours at least between taking advil and tylenol.
