rent = monthly cost for apartment. Or the action to lease an apartment.
eg: The monthly rent for this apartment is $20,000
eg: I would like to rent this apartment
rental = the fact that the apartment is to be rented out
eg: This apartment is a rental apartment, it's available for $20,000 a month.
