38 wks, 3 days, 80% effaced & 5 cm dilated - dr released from hosp 4 hrs ago - just lost mucus plug. Go back?

I don't know why you would be released if you are already 5cm dilated. You only have 5 more to go until you are suppose to start pushing! Seems to me like you should be in the hospital still. Losing your mucus plug just means that you are continuing to dilate and that your cervix is no longer holding the plug in place.

How are you suppose to know when to go back? If you aren't in active labor I would ask your Dr about induction since you are most of the way there anyway. I'd just be worried that you'll get really far along without knowing it and not have time to get back to the hospital.

Wow, why would they release you if you ar 5 cm dilated? I thought once you got to 4 they were supposed to admit you. I would definitely go back or at least call or maybe ask another doctor. Good luck, hopefully you can meet your new angel soon! :)

I would wait until you have regular contractions and then call your doctor, loosing your plug doesn't mean you will be in labor today, sorry.

I would go back. Worse comes to worse, they'll just send you home again, at least they checked it out and ok'd it.

I bet you go into labor today, keep watching for any pains or back pains, then go right back. Call the doc tho, your mucas plug falling out should help things along quickly!

even though you are 5cm dilated, unless you are having regular contractions that are changing your cervix at this moment, or your water breaks...more than likely they will just send you home once again. Losing your mucus plug really isnt a good indicator of anything...however, you will be having your baby soon! :) Congrats!!

They made you go back home at that stage?! MEEPS. Um, yeah. . . I'd go back! Haha!
