DIssolve here means in action with any solvents. Since the metal atoms in lattice are actually ions, then why do not them dissolve? THanks. Please come back.

Metals like potassium, sodium & reactive ones are reacted with water to form the respective metal hydroxide solutions. Nearly all metals are
dissolved in nitric acid. Metals are elements and you cannot use the
dissolution of sugar in water to explain the way of metal. This is the
way to dissolve metals .
