Isolation Transformer

Computer equipment generates harmonics and seriously affect the power quality. One of the method to trap the harmonics current in order not to affect other sub-circuits is use of isolation transformer.
This isolation transformer is a three phase transformer with same voltage ratio. At supply side, it is connected to "Delta" and "Wye" connected at load side. If then, the harmonics current will be trapped in the Delta wiring and circulated within it. Latest UPS so called "Delta Conversion UPS" are built in a Dy isolation transformer at Supply side. Power Distribution Unit (PDU) normally provided with Dy isolation transformer for computer load to eliminate the harmonics current affecting the supply side.
