how do you do halfs in math.. ie: what is half of 240?

You divide it by 2, or you multiply by .5. Essentially, if you have a whole pizza, and you eat 4 out of the 8 slices, you have eaten half. An equal amount eaten, and an equal amount is still in the pizza box. Moreover, you have eaten 50% of the pizza.


For your example 240/2 = 24/2 * 10 = 12 * 10 = 120.


In short, divide the number by 2 and that is half of the number.
